Route List

The Route List is the central hub for managing all school transport routes. It displays a badge count of active routes and provides tools to search, view, edit, and create routes.

Understanding the Route List Screen

Each route card displays the following information at a glance:

Route Name

Unique name for the route (e.g. Metro Route 3, Route 3).

Student Count

Total number of students currently assigned to this route.

Vehicle Details

Vehicle name(s) and registration numbers assigned. '+N More' appears when multiple vehicles exist.

Driver Details

Driver name and contact number for quick reference.

Route Location & Time

Visual timeline showing start and end locations of the route.

Charge Duration

3
Click Add to publish the route.
Note — A route with 0 students is valid and can be pre-configured before enrollment. Students are assigned through the Student Management module.

Viewing Route Details

Click the eye icon (👁) in the Action column to open the full route details panel. This shows all vehicles, stop points, students enrolled, and timing information for that route.

Editing a Route

Click the document/edit icon in the Action column to modify route settings including Route name, Start and End Location, and charge Duration.

Best Practices

Use clear, consistent route names (e.g. 'Metro Route 3' rather than 'MR3') to make records searchable and self-documenting.
Always associate at least one vehicle and driver before activating a route for live tracking.
Ensure student count is accurate — discrepancies can affect fee calculations in the Fees Management module.

Route List — FAQ

Q.Why does a route show 0 students?
A route with 0 students is a pre-configured route where no students have been assigned yet. This is normal during setup — routes remain visible to allow vehicle and stop-point configuration before student enrolment.
Q.How do I assign a student to a transport route?
Student-to-route assignment is managed through the Student Management module. Open the student profile, navigate to the Transport section, and select the route and stop point.
